Winter at "The Falls"

I've always wanted to see Tahquamenon Falls in the winter so...

Today, the four oldest, a family friend, and yours truly went to the Upper Falls.

This is a view from one of the observation decks that was farther away.

It was so interesting to see the tanin-colored foam that was frozen at the base of the falls.

These are ice formations caused by the mist coming from the falls.

The river above the falls...

...creates these amazing ice formations behind the falls.

Do you see something in Matthew's hands?

Yes, he delivered the snowball and it was immediately "returned"!

Kristin thought it was funny!

Uh-oh!

Kristin is safely out of range.

It's a little deep if you don't stay on the groomed path!

Yep, that would be hip deep on the girls!
It was interesting trying to get out!

Retreat!

Incoming!

Heading back to the car tired (me) and snowy (them).
A fun trip!
